Interaction
Jul 9th, 2007 by twilson
Thanks for visiting The Mercurials. We’re off to a good start and the second episode is almost ready for posting this Sunday, July 15th. In the meantime, we wanted to let you know about some of the ways you can interact with us and this site.
First, most blog postings are open for comments. We’d love to know what you think of the latest episode and answer your questions. On the home page, there’s a button at the end of each post that shows how many comments that post has already. Click on that cutton to view and add comments.
You don’t need to be registered to make a comment. The first time you submit one, it won’t appear until one of us has approved it. That’s to help minimize spam comments. After that, you can make comments whenever you like.
Second, you can sign up to Get Updates when a new episode is posted. There’s a tab along the top of this page labeled “Get Updates.” Go there to submit your email address and receive an automated email whenever a new episode is posted.
If you happen to be registered on this site, you can sign up for updates on your profile page. You can also choose to receive emails about blog postings in other categories in addition to “Updates.”
Third, if you’d like to register for The Mercurials web site, you can do that as well. At the bottom of the right-hand navigation bar is a box titled “Meta.” That’s where you’ll find the link for registration, and later log in when you visit the site.
Registration is free and offers a few benefits. For instance, you’ll be able to post a profile if you like and choose to receive more updates when new blog entries are posted. Honestly, although we’re not new to blogging, we are new to blog registration for visitors, so we’ll have to see how that goes. At any rate, you won’t miss anything if you don’t register.
Lastly, if you have a feedreader and want to subscribe to our RSS feeds, those links are available right beneath the row of pictures near the top of the page.
Thanks for checking out The Mercurials. We’re eager to share more of the story with you and to get your feedback!
